Meet Australia's only Polar Bears at Polar Bear Shores at Sea World. The exhibit replicates an Arctic summer where the bears can choose where they would like to rest and play. Often you will spot them relaxed and asleep in the exhibit.
The welfare and wellbeing of the animals is our highest priority at Sea World.
The polar bears who reside at Sea World are ambassador animals who educate and inspire our guests to make change in their lives to help conserve their species.
Polar Bear Shores is one of the largest exhibits of its kind and is designed around an Arctic summer with a large pool, freshwater springs and a variety of substrates depending on the season.
Polar bears are listed as Vulnerable due to the impacts of climate change on their sea ice habitat.
It’s estimated that between 22,000 and 31,000 polar bears remain in the wild.
Wild polar bears roam the icy regions of Canada, the USA (Alaska), Russia, Norway (Svalbard), and Greenland (Denmark).

Can't see the bears? They have the choice to come and go from the exhibit as much as they like. This allows them to feed, rest, play and spend time back of house. Feel free to wait or visit again later.
